There are many tools that allow developers to install and manage multiple Erlang and Elixir versions. In such cases, you can also opt to use a version manager. You can use the Erlang/Elixir packages that are part of your distribution, although those may lag behind in version numbers (especially for LTS releases). On Unix systems, there are two options to install Elixir. Note version managers (described below), are also available for macOS. Install Elixir according to your operating system and tool of choice. If you are not sure if you have Elixir installed or not, you can run elixir -version in your terminal. If they do not, the “Installing Erlang” section has you covered. Many of the instructions below will automatically install Erlang for you. Note that Elixir v1.16 requires Erlang 24.0 or later. If such an option is not available, then we recommend using the precompiled packages or compiling the language yourself. The quickest way to install Elixir is through a distribution or using one of the available installers. When presented with the 3 quest options, I took them all and then promptly forgot which one was the main quest. Finding the menus to Equip gear and access the skill tree was not immediately obvious to me. There were a lot of places I tried jumping to, or was able to jump to, that made me expect loot or a secret area only to be disappointed. Would have liked to see this utilised more. Your character has the ability to jump. Frustrating to do when tapping a direction you're not facing animates the full turn instead of moving you. Running around, I overshot doors and NPCs quite a lot so had to correct my position by one square a lot. Moving around is a little clunky, particularly when you only want to move one square. There should also be safe zones immediately around entrances to towns/caves etc where the enemies cannot attack you. Enemies on the world map trigger battles way too often. It kept me engaged, wasn't frustrating, and I was able to figure it out at the right pace. The torch puzzle in the Hideout cave was well done. Dialogue feels natural and helps flesh out the characters and world. Thank you so much for the diary that automatically displays when you load a save! The basic attacks feel like using skills, and having them change depending on what weapons you have equipped really helped to keep minor battles interesting. Customisations to the menus and battle system really make this game stand out. Game aesthetics look great: the art, the animations, the maps, the extra little intro when you first launch the game. I suspect the project has been abandoned but I'm providing the following feedback in case the dev ever comes back to this. While there isn't much to this game so far, it's obvious a lot of time and attention has been put into what is here. |
